5. A new Peruvian species of Megarthrus Curtis (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Proteininae)

Megarthrus wayqecha sp. nov. is described from Cuzco, Peru.
Inhabits high-elevation cloud forests (2931–2950 m) in the Kosñipata valley.
Diagnostic features include a piriform 11th antennomere and unique male leg morphology.
Provides the first COI barcode sequence for a Peruvian Megarthrus species.
Abstract
A new species of Megarthrus Curtis is described from the Eastern slopes of the Andes in southeastern Peru (Department of Cuzco). Major diagnostic features are photographed and illustrated, and COI molecular barcode is given.
